um. hi? maybe? whether this be temporary or not i cant be positive..

lol?
well i have not posted for a while. life has been a little crap and not much really worth posting about. but hey! here goes an attempt, if i can remember how lol

mikael has started soccer, his best friends dad coaches the team and talked me into signing mikael up for the under 8's, which is great! he's enjoying it and i must admit i love watching him play, these 7 year olds, they get quite competitive! its great, like a heap of miniature david beckham wanna-bes running around on the field :) i have turned into one of those mad soccer mums road raging everybody as im driving (behind schedule as usual) to the early morning saturday games, and cheering when a member of the opposing team takes a fall and loses the ball (terrible arent i!)

Winter is setting in, which sucks. my lawn is growing way too fast and i swear ive gotten mick to mow it like 3 times in the last 7 weeks, which is a little ridiculous.. my tomatoes are still going nutso trying to climb the house and producing more cherry tomatoes than it can handle, which is cool, but a little confusing, i thought tomatoes should have died off by now?

my car is on its death bed AGAIN. my clutch is on its way out whiiiich is going to cost me about 700 dollars to fix. Unless i can find someone willing to do it mates rates which would cost $250 for the parts i need and $50 for a bottle?.... much more preferable to $700....
and it runs out of rego this week so i think i might just walk for a while until i can figure out which fucken orifice im going to pull the money for repairs n rego out of....
Excuse my French.

well this was a crap attempt at blogging. all i have really acheived is one big whinge. but i did it! hopefully things will pick up a bit soon and i will have better things to write about next time.
ciao!

all we need is. radio gaga. radio gaga. radio ga - ga

im sitting here listening to fresh fm (which is going off tap at th moment) and having a coffee, pretty bored, so i thought id do a post :)

last thursday i picked up some cheap carrots with th idea of giving them to th horses. so when mick got home from work we went for a wander through th back fence.
the carrots were very much appreciated.
by th horses, and by mick lol

we went to the park last friday after mick got home from work. Took his nitro petrol car to run it in the skate bowls. That thing goes fucking fast excuse my french.
Then we joined mikael on th play equiptment lol
*i think i spelt equiptment wrong* ... equipment? equiptment? ... are you smarter than a fifth grader?? lol
Q. which one looks like they are having more fun? lol
yesterday it was really hot, i dropped mikael at school in th morning n drove over to the beach, like 2 roads away from his school :) and saw this
(Not the council workers lmao)
so i decided i would go home and get th dog and go for a swim.
by th time i actually got there (procrastinating as usual) we got about half an hour in th water before this..
so we got out, dried off a bit n went home -athena is so freaking camera shy! she wont look at the camera very often, even if i call her. i dont think she realises that th flash doesnt work in broad daylight roflmao
the garden is looking great at the moment! i cant say its going to look this good in about a months time after the heat starts to set in, and i dont want to think what it will be like after 3 months time! but at the moment the sunflowers are a good 6 feet tall and starting to open up, my hollyhocks havent opened up yet but they also are at least 6 foot tall with flowers buds all up the main stem, the buds have been there for ages, ive been waiting for them to open but they just keep getting bigger?! i suppose it will be really spectacular when it finally opens lol
theres fruit on th apricot tree and my strawberry plant is trying hard (although th fruit keeps rotting on th ground - time for pea straw i think) and the tomatoes down th side are going absolutely boonta! ill have to get some pictures of those :)
ciao!

backyard menagerie

i havent updated in a while, my desktop picture collection is getting a little big (pictures ive picked out for my blog) so i thought i better use them and make some space!

we got our tomato plants in the weekend before fathers day, so hopefully we will get buckets of tomatoes this year. a cherry tomato and a normal tomato. normal tomato?!? lol
that bag right there is horse poo so our tomatoes cant say we are starving them..and this is the little garden mick made next to the pond. it was a real engineering feat that one, he dug a hole for the pond and didnt know what to do with th leftover dirt, so voila! a raised bed was born!

meet bob bob. micks galah. he was rescued off the side of the road about 6 years ago after mick saw him get hit by a car. hes had him ever since.
connisuer of farmers union ice coffee and jim beam.
do not let this little fucker fool you, he is a bastard.
hates me.
no matter how much time i spend at his cage talking to him and giving him plant matter to play with, as soon as i put my hand near him he skitzes out. so needless to say, he stays IN the cage and i stay OUT of it.

and this is jigsaw.
he was aquired in january of 2008 when we went on a roadtrip to hindmarsh island.
enough said.
and to any greenies who would like to 'have a go,' he would have most likely have died if he stayed.

fathers day was rather uneventful for us, mikael spent most of the day with his dad and we stuffed around in the garden before going for a night ride into the city.
the fountain near king william street..
..and again but orange lol
look closely, theres a swan in the foreground, i think it thought we had food..

and last weekend we finally got th boy riding his bike WITHOUT trainer wheels! (i mean, hes only 7 lmao) so that was definately an acheivement and a half.
mick had to do th whole running alongside th bike thing as mikael was too shit scared for him to let go but after a bit he was ok. just didnt like turning lol
to be continued... :)

last weekend. (because i didnt write about it last week and theres not much to write about this weekend)

so. kyra and phil came down last sunday to see if we wanted to go fishing. it was pretty cold so i thought id suggest going for shitty carp just for fun (which seemed easy as pie when we went last time, they bit hard and often that day) near th zoo, which people seemed happy with at the time
so we went.
and apparantly, so had the carp.
(if you look hard enough at that tree theres a magpie nest with two baby magpies in it somewhere, mum kept coming back to feed them and they would stick their heads out all chirpy like but shitty mummy magpie kept taking off everytime i got my stupid camera out.)
so we basically hung around there joking about how much crap was in th torrens (hahaha if you re-arrange crap you get carp lmao) for half th afternoon before some idiot mentioned th cave and then plans seemed to change.
so we went up to th cave for a drive.
it was really green up there, all the bulbs and annuals were starting to flower, if anything it was a bit overgrown, but i noticed there werent many sweet peas around this year (which is a good thing as they choked everything else there and became a huge fire hazard come summertime.)
the cave path was fairly overgrown but there were signs of someone having been there recently.
me and kyra begged the boys to dig up various plants (not natives, escaped european garden plants mainly, like watsonia, arum lily and th like) for our gardens so we ended up going home with a bucket full of gardening material lol
and of course mick had to find an animal (he cant seem to do anything without finding an animal) and then so did kyra. so we ended up bringing home a couple of frogs which got added to the frog pond out th back.
saw the sunset as we drove back home down to the city. awesome.

i did see two chargers in two days last week though, i thought that was pretty trippy.
day one
day two
i have a charger..
..badge.
now i just need th chassis, engine and interior to go with it lmao

theres a link! and you should check it out cos its awesome! and i did it myself!

i have re-discovered macro on my camera.
i used to use it alot back in high school in photography but have pretty much forgotten it existed since then as i havent had a good enough camera.
the camera i have now however, does have macro, so i have been taking alot of shots lately using this function. ive found flowers are a great subject as they are vivid in colour n texture which is what macro is good for.

the end result of this? i now have ALOT of flower photos clogging up my computer.
i personally think some of them are quite good and some of my friends have said that too, so i want to figure out how i can share these photos. some of them would make excellent cards. th little voice in th back of my head tells me "who th hell would want those. as if" so its hard to get motivated lol
maybe i should make up a dossier?
ooh dont i sound up myself lol a dossier...

so i didnt want to put them all here on this page, i already have them elsewhere so i have linked the image.
just click it :)
if you want to see the pictures bigger (which does them real justice - not bragging or anything :/) just click them too :)

i am so talking to myself here hahaha hilarious. oh well at least I think im entertaining lol

PET GOLDFISH LANDS ON MARS. not really, but hopefully i got your attention..

this was taken yesterday out in the back yard. it was a beautiful sunny day so i went n did some gardening and sorted out th frog pond while i was out there. i think i need to buy some cheap gold fish to stop th wrigglers breeding in there, i had to tip out th water, it was gross.
i didnt take any pictures of the frog pond (duh) but i planted some arum lillies next to it and reorganised th water lillies, weeded around it n changed th water, i went outside to look at it before n it looks alot clearer today, so hopefully th frogs like it.

its starting to feel like spring around here, flowers everywhere n warm sunny days. i think i would have to say spring is my favourite season. summer is good but i dont like still, hot 40c days where theres no wind, so no relief and th days seem to drag, waiting for th sun to go down (daylight savings helps with that lol) hurray i guess thats too come. and not too far away either, i realised yesterday its a little over 4 months until xmas (gasp! where th hell has th year gone?!) so i think sometime in th next week or two it might be a good idea for me to go and sort out some kind of xmas layby.
im effing hopeless at saving bloody money. that is definately something i need to learn. good at laybys though, yet its th same principle? go figure.

so. this is my ramble for this friday th fourteenth day of august in th year two thousand and nine.
i must go and see how far mick has gotten putting th engine into his car.

update

Well heres an update, i guess i havent really written anything for a while. Its just that i dont know what to write. It feels like im failing at life at th moment.
Im finally down to 68kg. I dont remember being 68kg for th longest time. Possibly since i was 14. You would think id be happy hey, but no, a few random comments from 'friends' about 'god, youve lost heaps of weight, are you sick or something?' has really boosted my confidence (not) and now im starting to wonder WHY IS IT That its so easy to lose weight now when it never has been.
Mick mowed th lawns on th weekend. Its amazing how huge th backyard looks now. And neat. I just went outside n took a photo, it looks like its going to be an awesome day today. And while i think of it, guess what else?! Th roses mick got me for my birthday? Well i have managed to get some cuttings growing.
No roots yet tho.
Suggestions definately welcome..
I have to go now n take th boy to school. Ciao!

cars, cars and job interviews

well. we have had a busy couple of days i can tell you that :)
job interviews, moving cars. (scott got a job friday by the way)
today we did some running around for some parts and helped a mate move his new nissan 50th anniversary 300ZX (nice) that he just bought from its old house to his house, tried to suss out why it wouldnt start (he got it pretty cheap) scott couldnt figure it out so we came home and started sorting the shed to get a phone call from said mate, car wouldnt start cos one wire was broken.
its going now. and our mate is smiling fucken ear to ear :)
so its been a busy, but amazing couple of days.
my new car is here under my carport now, the guy im buying it off had to make room for his new 300ZX ;)
off to eat dinner...one of my black arum lilys. (with heritage daffodils and *what i thought was* milkweed)
theyre coming up now because its winter.. soon therell be flowers

our afternoon out

yesterday scott had job interviews and job network inductions, the first was at wingfield and the last in the city, so you can imagine the driving we did!
After the city interview, we still had a couple of hours to kill before we had to pick mikael up from school so we went to the botanical gardens for a quick walk.
i always love going into the gardens, it really is the most amazing place, i could easily spend all day there! while we were there we made sure we stopped by the amazon waterlily glasshouse. Scott worked for the company that did prep work for the site last year and he wanted to see what it looked like as a completed project, it was so beautiful, i forgot to take a photo of the actual building but i took plenty of the plants (until my phone battery died) so you can see parts of it in the photos but you cant really get the gist of it. it was huge
Heres some pictures of our day out :)
