from roast pork to thai chicken

quote of th day:
hayley turns to mick and asks "do you like al freddo"
to which he replies "no."

it happened again this morning. but then i guess its not th first time and it definately wont be th last time i wake up and realise
'crap i hate mondays..'
after getting over that fact, i looked at my phone and saw it was 8:30 already OMG so i woke up mikael and got him organised, got th car out and finally got th boy to school - 15 minutes late of course.

our weekend was cool, literally. zues didnt let up with th cold and th rain all freaking weekend. we had a bit of sun sunday arvo and of course today is nice and sunny (as always) but it has just been so goddamn cold! i cant wait for summer (and then ill be complaining 'fuck its hot, hurry up winter, i miss the rain' lmao)
Friday night we had corey and mikhail over for roast pork. turned out wicked, although personally i think it needed a little longer but by the time i realised that everyone was starving so.. it didnt matter, it wasnt bleeding on th plate or anything lol
put on a movie afterwards but scott n corey fell asleep not even halfway thru so i ended up turning th movie off as id already seen it and putting family guy on instead.
Saturday was pretty uneventful, didnt do much at all. mikael lounged around in his jammies til about 3 in th afternoon before finally deciding to get dressed, then him and scott went outside in their coats and th rain and cleaned up all th crap behind the shed, putting it into bags to be gotten rid of and getting it ready to mow for th next available sunny day, then we got KFC for dinner and all stayed up ridiculously late listening to th radio before making up a big bed on th loungeroom floor with a double mattress and pillows galore and bunking in together. kael thought it was christmas being allowed to sleep with us for once and he must have slept well because we all slept in until nearly 11am! which just never happens where th kids concerned lol
mick n hayley came down in th afternoon which was nice and scotti tried fixing th telstar again. we thought we had th bitch sorted grrrr
by th time mick n hayley headed home for dinner it was a bit late to organise anything so we had leftovers and ordered a special fried rice from our chinese takeaway to go with it. yummo. good and easy.
now it is 2pm and i have nearly an hour to kill before picking mikael up from school. thai chicken stirfry tonight, i have a wicked soy sauce in th cupboard im planning on using and i bought some real nice chicken strips today to chuck in with th mcCain frozen thai stir fry veg. yes im cheating a little.. $3 for ready prepared frozen veg of reasonable quality, variety and quantity for a meal for 3. or buy th ingredients seperate, hmm about $11, then chop them up, which requires effort. lmao i sound so lazy i told you i hate mondays!
oh. and theres another addition to th family. at this point its still nameless.
anyway i will try to remember to take a picture of my lazy thai fry lol to add to your cooking blog k8 (if that counts as cooking lmao) ciao!

i am quite confident in my cooking skills and i like to think i do a good job, but every now n then i do stoop to ready made frozen stuff or shortcuts like canned vegetables, (i wont go as far as pre packaged pasta sauce, i much prefer to get a cheap paste and a nice can of tomatoes and then add my own flavours with herbs n spices in my cupboard and an onion n a capsicum even sometimes) but when i find something i like, i do tend to stick to it, same brand or whatever. i think its because im so fussy.
but here is one i definately definately recommend...
sara lee rocks! fruit sweetness not sugar sweetness if you get my drift..
and also the apricot/apple one is good drool drool

a day at the drifts. and other things..

well, where do i start lol
right now it is absolutely raining cats and dogs outside at the moment. glad it wasnt like this yesterday.went to mallala yesterday for round two of the g1 drifts. was a great day, as usual. (appreciation to all the volunteers that make the day possible..)
plenty of sideways action.. and complimentary tyre smoke for everyone.was a beautiful sunny day with late afternoon cloud cover, although windy, which was definately a lot better than the day befores rain..
saturday i took mikael up to daves for the weekend while scott worked on his panelvan and caught up with mick while i was up there. his mate lives around the corner from dave and micks doing some work on a car for him at the moment and he happened to be there so i figured kill two birds with one stone (or rather, kill two birds with the same tank of petrol lmao)
there was a fire out the back, which kept the miserable grey at bay enough to not ruin the day, it rained a little but mainly it was just cold. mick was painting too lol smart move on a cold day..
last week was frustrating, mikael had a cold, i felt like crap, the weather was shit.
hopefully this week will be better.
signing off for now..
