we had our yearly family get together games early october,
everybody was there except laura, whos on duty in port augusta poor constable rayment lol jade pj and zac couldnt make it from sydney and aunty sue and uncle rob who were in melbourne. cliff and uncle danny put in a late appearance due to work commitments, but it was great they made it :)

mick took me out on the paddleboats in the city on saturday! it was so damn cool.
he is such a sweetie!
we saw swans and ducks and pelicans.
and nearly got ran over by the popeye lol
i havent been on the paddleboats since i was a little girl with my dad :)

on sunday we took mikael for a ride on our bikes to henley square.
it could have been better, but he had a great time.

i rode to micks work yesterday to meet him for his lunchbreak. it was a pretty nice ride as it usually is.
it has definately gotten easier and my ass doesnt seem to hurt like it used to.
but i still cant ride with no hands :(

i havent updated in a while, my desktop picture collection is getting a little big (pictures ive picked out for my blog) so i thought i better use them and make some space!

we got our tomato plants in the weekend before fathers day, so hopefully we will get buckets of tomatoes this year. a cherry tomato and a normal tomato. normal tomato?!? lol
that bag right there is horse poo so our tomatoes cant say we are starving them..and this is the little garden mick made next to the pond. it was a real engineering feat that one, he dug a hole for the pond and didnt know what to do with th leftover dirt, so voila! a raised bed was born!

meet bob bob. micks galah. he was rescued off the side of the road about 6 years ago after mick saw him get hit by a car. hes had him ever since.

no matter how much time i spend at his cage talking to him and giving him plant matter to play with, as soon as i put my hand near him he skitzes out. so needless to say, he stays IN the cage and i stay OUT of it.

he was aquired in january of 2008 when we went on a roadtrip to hindmarsh island.
enough said.
and to any greenies who would like to 'have a go,' he would have most likely have died if he stayed.

fathers day was rather uneventful for us, mikael spent most of the day with his dad and we stuffed around in the garden before going for a night ride into the city.

and last weekend we finally got th boy riding his bike WITHOUT trainer wheels! (i mean, hes only 7 lmao) so that was definately an acheivement and a half.
mick had to do th whole running alongside th bike thing as mikael was too shit scared for him to let go but after a bit he was ok. just didnt like turning lol

I took these yesterday on my ride along th river.
Do you know how many freaking condom wrappers and condoms i see on th ground along that river track?! Its disgusting.
People should learn to pick up after themselves. Gross.

i used to think bikes are just for people too young to drive cars, but now im not so sure..

god how freaking tired do i look! This is th result of riding a bmx for an hour n a half a day, 5 days in a row!
Thankfully my ass is past th point of hurting, maybe i have callouses there now or something, no idea but im glad.
My legs hurt for th 1st ten minutes when i first start but i push myself n that goes away and i dont seem to get breathless so easy. Bonus.
Maybe theres hope yet lol

This is what i saw over th river as i came around a bend on my way home yesterday, my first thought 'shit, im riding INTO that' second thought 'that looks awesome, stop n take a photo' so i did.

Th boy asked to go to grandmas for th nite, so i rang and asked her and it was ok so we dropped him off about 3.
Had a nice relaxing day cruising th shop then we decided to go for a bikeride. We rode all th way to th city then rode home. It was pretty damn cool.
My ass is again pretty damn sore, but it was still pretty damn cool :)

reflections

I decided today to go for a bikeride.
To hindmarsh.
It was pretty cool actually, just took th bike path next to th river th whole way. I timed it perfect, i got to near micks work just on his lunch break so i rang him n asked if he wanted 2 meet me at th river for lunch.

It was a beautiful day so i took some photos.

I stopped on th way back on a cool little wooden bridge in th shade to (yes ill be honest) have a smoke, these guys must have thought i had food or something cos they were pretty keen.
I must have seemed pretty mean cos i just laughed at them and took a photo

And heres th beast that got me there. I like. Comfortable seat, hard work but thats th idea right!? I bought it for my birthday as a 'now you have no excuse considering theres an awesome bike path right near th house, get off your ass and excercise' tool.

Well i have to go now and get th boy from school, hes been home th last 3 days with an ear infection, poor little bugger. (and poor me!) Th doctor said he was fine to go back today so hopefully hes had a good day!

Comfortable seat?!? Ask me now if i think its a comfortable seat! My ass feels like its been hit with a fn cricket bat a few dozen times.
