um. hi? maybe? whether this be temporary or not i cant be positive..

lol?
well i have not posted for a while. life has been a little crap and not much really worth posting about. but hey! here goes an attempt, if i can remember how lol

mikael has started soccer, his best friends dad coaches the team and talked me into signing mikael up for the under 8's, which is great! he's enjoying it and i must admit i love watching him play, these 7 year olds, they get quite competitive! its great, like a heap of miniature david beckham wanna-bes running around on the field :) i have turned into one of those mad soccer mums road raging everybody as im driving (behind schedule as usual) to the early morning saturday games, and cheering when a member of the opposing team takes a fall and loses the ball (terrible arent i!)

Winter is setting in, which sucks. my lawn is growing way too fast and i swear ive gotten mick to mow it like 3 times in the last 7 weeks, which is a little ridiculous.. my tomatoes are still going nutso trying to climb the house and producing more cherry tomatoes than it can handle, which is cool, but a little confusing, i thought tomatoes should have died off by now?

my car is on its death bed AGAIN. my clutch is on its way out whiiiich is going to cost me about 700 dollars to fix. Unless i can find someone willing to do it mates rates which would cost $250 for the parts i need and $50 for a bottle?.... much more preferable to $700....
and it runs out of rego this week so i think i might just walk for a while until i can figure out which fucken orifice im going to pull the money for repairs n rego out of....
Excuse my French.

well this was a crap attempt at blogging. all i have really acheived is one big whinge. but i did it! hopefully things will pick up a bit soon and i will have better things to write about next time.
ciao!

purple trees named pinto/tinto

This is one of th horses behind our house.

I nicknamed him pinto/tinto.
Im not sure why. Deep back in my memory theres a vague notion that there was a pinto/tinto in an old cowboy n indian movie that looked just like him.
He is very obnoxious. Sometimes i wonder why i bother walking after him trying to coax him with a handful of grass saying
'do you want it? do you want it?'
When it is perfectly obvious he doesnt.

I love this tree. Isnt it beautiful. I think its a white ghost gum.

Mikael nearly got thrown out of school th other day.
Really would rather not going into that right now.. Im not sure why i even brought it up.
My gardens starting to look ok, its getting greener with all th rain we have had. Th river out th back is full again even. Winter really seems to be setting in early this year. Its getting so damn cold at nite!

I have asked dave to take mikael to grandmas (daves mums) for th weekend (oh wow it just started raining outside) as his attitude is driving me nuts n i just want a weekend to relax n not have to battle or debate with a 6year old. That would be heaven. It would be better if it was school holidays, then i could pack him off to grannys (my mum) for th whole two weeks. I should be so lucky.
Hell, maybe i should see if ethiopa takes 6year old exchange students so he can see how some people live.
That will make him appreciate his 'aw mum, not chicken a-gain!'
Or maybe th
me - 'why didnt you eat that?'
him - 'cos i didnt want it. Mum. Im still hungry.'
will stop.
Maybe hell learn to eat what hes given.
And pigs will fly.

A picture says a thousand words. Thank god for that cos im not going to...

i went out th back for a coffee th other morning n had to take a photo.
Beautiful.

Athena at th beach.
Idiot lol

Sitting pretty...

Mikael and i found th most kick ass tree.
Spot mikael!

He gets scared when i push him high on th swing, so i push him higher!
He loves it...

After taking kael to school last friday i detoured past th beach to have a look.
Nice birthday weather lol

And this is what my favourite person in th whole world got me for my birthday!

Delivered to my door!

Arent i lucky, they are absolutely gorgeous.
I want to try n get one of th stalks to root (that sounds so dirty) so i cut a 15 cm or so piece off th bottom of one of them, hung th rose in th closet to dry it out, and put th stem into a glass of water.
Wish me luck with that, itd be awesome to have a rosebush of them to keep forever.

And since im getting old i thought id dye my hair.
What do you think??

Signing off for now. Ciao!

grrr.

this weekend we decided to tackle th spare room problem.
so we decided th most motivating way of doing this was to swap th spare room with th boys room as th spare room is larger so there would be more room for him to play.
well.
here it is nearly midnight and we are still sorting out this goddam mess. the whole house looks like a bomb has hit it and is in total disarray.
i dont know where to start and i certainly cant see an end in sight.
heres to this week being th start of change. i feel a move in th air again.

plastic joiners shouldnt be plastic where hot car engines are concerned...

we had a mixed bag weekend.
Saturday was nice and sunny, so i took the chance to finish painting the strip on my car. finally it is done! 3 of the 5 areas are now complete. hurray. all i have to do now is fix the strip on the other side (im thinking of stripping back what ive already done and doing the whole thing like i did on the first side) and chuck some colour and clear on the panel behind the drivers front wheel. once thats done all the fiddly bits are complete and all we have to do is spray putty the new front bumper that is sitting in the shed to make it smooth like the back one, paint it and put it on the car. The one thats on the car has a broken bracket and is only managing to stay on with a little help from some green garden ties lmao
Speaking of cars, mick put his old springs back in the rear of his car as we were wondering what it would look like with his new rims. when he had the rear lowered, we thought the back was too low. the front looked better with the new rims, being larger than the simmons that were on the car the new rims filled his wheel arch nicely. so after a few hints he chucked th old ones back in and sent us a photo. what do you think now?
Mikael went to granny and pops for the weekend, both mum and cliff were working saturday so it was a toss up who he would go to work with saturday. pops won out. looks like they had a fantastic day, cliff sent some photos saturday night. i think cliff should be a part time photographer lol every one of them were set out so beautifully. heres some of them...*
*
Sunday was freak out day. i was listening to music with my car stereo out under the carport for a while and i thought 'shit, i better start the car soon, ill probably flatten the battery' so i started it (just in time, was nearly flat) to leave it running for five minutes to put some charge back and went inside to start my washing.
50 minutes later when the washing machine stopped, i went to get the clothes out th machine to hang them out and thought 'whats that noise?.... shit the cars still running!'
i ran outside to find steam absolutely pissing out from under the bonnet (excuse my language) so i turned the car off, popped the bonnet and called scotti (not too intelligbly)
anyway, water is everywhere in the engine bay, really really hot water may i add, pooling around my leads and plugs and shit, i start freaking out and scotti goes into robot mode, checking this n that.

we decide that considering
1. it was still running smoothly when i came out, regardless of the steam
2. there actually was still steam and water, which was a good thing meaning it hadnt cooked dry
and
3. youre not meant to put anything cold on hot metal (good way to crack your head - bonus points for that)

we would leave it to cool down before touching it at all and since we were due to go to my mums to have a bbq and pick up mikael that afternoon, we would look at it when we got back.
dinner at mums was nice, bbq'd pork ribs and potato bake. ended up staying til late, as usual, and had sticky date pudding for dessert.
looking at the car when we got back we could see that the problem t'was the joiner on a heater hose had broken, causing the hose from the radiator to come off the block completely, which is a good way to empty your radiator in a hurry.
Today we went and got the joiner for $11 and replaced it. it alway seems to be the ridiculous little cheap parts that will do the big damage lol
we filled the radiator and started her, she ran smooth and even, which was a really good thing, we noticed theres now a small leak in the radiator, meaning were up for a new radiator, which is not too big a deal considering i almost was facing a fried engine from getting distracted by washing. not. good.Right now it is really freaking cold and miserable, overcast and threatening to rain again like it has been on and off all day.
where the bloody hell did those sunny days we were starting to get go??
oh well im off to pick the boy up from school. ciao!

mikael, my little handyman

The toilet roll holder fell off the door last week and scotti hadn't gotten around to fixing it yet,
i think mikael got sick of it cos today he asked scotti if he could borrow a screwdriver so he could fix the toilet roll holder.
Scotti turned to me about 5 minutes later and said
"i'm not sure whether to be proud or worried"
"why" i asked,
to which he told me,
to which i said "oh shit! go check he isnt putting holes in the door or something!"
Scotti came back and said
"you might wanna see this"
so with dread in my stomache, up the hallway i went,
to find..
the boy has surprised me.

green river

after i picked up mikael from school today, we had half an hour to kill before having to drive to pick scotti up so when i left home i took kimba and a lead
(poor athena had to stay home this time.)after we left the school i asked mikael if he wanted to go for a walk, of course he did, so we drove to a spot near a creek we go sometimes thats sort of on the way. we locked the car and took kimba for a walk along the path that runs along the water.
yes. there was water.mikael loved it, kimba loved it, it was a little cold but i dont think either of them noticed and i got a half hour walk in so everybody won :)i am pleased to see how green everything is (even though its a little overgrown) its definately nice to see everything so alive when it all has been so brown lately.picked scotti up at 4 and mikael had ninjutsu at 6 so now were having a little dinner before putting the boy to bed.
ciao!

update

wow it feels wierd doing this...
i havent contributed to any of my blogs for about two weeks now, my internet spazzed out in a major way and then my modem decided to shit itself.
i must say, in the beginning i thought it was going to be a really traumatising experience, but it really wasnt!
the first couple of days were awkward, i would get home in the morning after taking mikael to school and feel so lost! i felt i had nothing to do and i was so bored, but then i forced myself to do things i havent done in a while and it went from there.
I have been walking athena every second day, an hour walk at a time, sometimes closer to two. ive been walking mikael to school instead of driving, takes us 40 minutes to walk there in the morning, then i have to walk home and walk back later to pick him up so i have been quite active, doing around 160 minutes walking a day just with the walk to school, not to mention the dog as well!
i feel much more motivated and awake ive also been doing alot of gardening, potting bulbs and lillies, ive pulled out the long grass from around the pond, my pot plants, the carport and the fencelines out the back and ive also done along the gates and the house out the front, so now i just need to do the fencelines out the front and get scotti to mow back n front and its all done! hurray..
the shed got finished sunday, there is stuff only in the very back of it now, stacked neatly. we put the v8 in the shed and my vn back under the carport (it was sitting on the back lawn for about a week because we had to quickly make space one night for the v8. the guy were buying it from wanted it out his yard so he wasnt tempted to thrash it drive it - while i mention that, we are a 1/4 way paid now..)
i cleaned out the dog kennel big time, puppy dogs were getting rather smelly and it was getting to the point where our nostrils were assualted every time we let them inside, so basically the whole house and yard has had a major clean out and re-arranging festival, which has really has added so much positiveness to the mood of the whole household.

On another note, scotti is really enjoying his job, he likes the people, he likes the work, he likes that its not a million miles across town. the only thing he doesnt like is theres never any overtime available. nothing like putting in overtime to really boost the budget. im so proud of scotti, he works so hard to provide for us.
i have enrolled mikael in ninjutsu classes, im hoping he will make some new friends, learn some new skills, i want him to appreciate training in a sense where he has to apply himself and concentrate, which requires self discipline. not to mention the discipline he will learn from Sosai. maybe this will help to refine his respect, concentration and confidence, and by starting him young, if he enjoys it so much, he might get really good by the time he is a teenager which would surely be good for his confidence. he had ninjutsu last night, i sat in and watched and i could not believe how much he listened and payed attention. he did everything he was asked to do, i was totally amazed.
so weve all been quite busy over the last two weeks, its also been nice weather on and off, probably the only reason we have been able to get so much done around the place.
anyway, signing off..***

randoms..

My sister and i met mum for morning tea the other weekend.
We thought mums oat slice was pretty good, so did the pigeons! This is Kyra feeding them out of her hand.
She talked me into it (me, with my fear of birds lol) and i must say it felt pretty damn ticklish!
I cacked myself the whole time i was crouched on the ground which my sister thought was hilarious.

Scott brought my attention to the dogs the other day, they were lying under the clothesline out the back and it looked pretty amusing. Kimba looked as though she was superimposed over the top of athena
i tried to be stealthy taking the photo out the kitchen window with my phone,
but do you think they knew i was there? lol

ill end this post with a picture of the card mikael wrote me for mothers day (with my mums help)
how adorable is his little drawing?!? (that he apparantly did all by himself)
i love it so much i am considering taking it into a tattoo artist and asking them to ink it on my ankle!
what do you think??
have a good day :)

Timmy!! Git in thar n do yer homework!!

i am not too impressed with my son. and no he is not called timmy.
now i am sure there are many parents out there who will agree with me, (and there are sure to be a heap who dont as well, there always is)
i know my son is smarter than he is acting right now.
i have watched my boy grow, and learn, and open his eyes with wonder and naivety at all the amazing things around him,
since he was so very young. he was one of those toddlers who had to explore, hated being in his pram, always had to touch and feel and ultimately taste, whatever was within reach and if it wasnt, he would put himself within reach.
At the age of 3 he was learning the planets in the solar system and could name them when asked, on his first day of kindy, he already knew how to draw cars and write his name, mum, scott, dog. he could count to 100 on his first day of school and was starting to realise how to read by stringing letter sounds together to make words, (although not always sucessfully) all this
because i took an active role in his learning
and yes, hes only 5, but to see how he is behaving now at school makes me a little sad. maybe i have failed on the
discipline side of things.
Every Day at bell time this week his teacher has looked around me, waiting paitently at the door of the classroom, to see what other parents are waiting (my stomach sinks into my ankles when she does that) and one by one dismisses the other kids as their parents arrive, leaving me til last, with said sunken stomach, to 'have a talk'.
he just isnt paying attention in class, isnt completing the (meagre amount of) work he is set and is more focused on whatever he has set in his head he wants to do, rather than doing what he is asked like everybody else. his attention span is that of a..
well.. he quite reminds me of manny from 'over the hedge'. which although it is amusing at times, is quite exhausting 24 hours 7 days.
buuuut ill cope. im thinking of taking all products with flavour enhancer 621 out of his diet again. it worked the last time. but i mean, do you know how hard it is to find products that
dont contain flavour enhancer 621?
check that packet of twisties youre eating...
